Insight Magazine
MAGAZINE DESIGN
The challenge
Insight was a quarterly print magazine produced by the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and distributed to staff across the organisation. The publication features stories that celebrate the achievements of individual staff members, teams and the service as a whole. After being engaged to take over the publication design, I was responsible for designing the editions, working within the existing visual style while ensuring each issue was presented clearly, professionally and consistently. MAGAZINE DESIGN
The solution
Working from supplied editorial content and imagery, I designed each issue of Insight by refining layouts, structuring feature stories and creating a cohesive reading experience across the publication. The design process involved adapting layouts to suit a variety of content, balancing photography, articles and supporting elements to create a magazine that felt engaging while remaining aligned with QAS’s established style.
The outcome
Across multiple print editions, Insight provided QAS staff with a professional and engaging internal publication that celebrated the work of the organisation and its people. The magazine maintained a consistent visual experience until its transition to a digital format, supporting QAS through this change while ensuring each issue remained clear, accessible and enjoyable to read.
Client kudos
"I just want to say a big thank you for your professionalism and dedication. No task was ever too big for you and you were so efficient at putting the magazine together. Finally, I love the look of the mag. The colours, design and layout work really well… it is amazing. Thank you so much for all your hard work and enthusiasm!”
